Whatever brought you here, we wanted to take a moment to introduce ourselves, share why we created Color Edit, and explain what you can expect from this community.
Why We Created Color Edit
As certified color analysts, we help clients discover their most flattering colors through the 12-season color analysis system. Time and time again, we noticed the same thing happen after a color analysis session:
People would leave excited about finding out their season but then wonder, “Now what?”
Knowing your season is powerful, but it’s just the beginning. Once you know your best colors, it’s natural to have some of the following questions:
- How do I pick colors from my season when putting outfits together?
- What makeup shades should I choose?
- How can I shop more confidently?
- How do I make all of this work in real life?
We’ve created Color Edit to answer those questions for our clients. As color analysts working in complementary fields (makeup and fashion) we realized there was an opportunity to create a resource that would bridge the gap between color analysis and real-world application. We wanted a practical, easy-to-use resource that would help people move beyond simply knowing their colors and start confidently using them.
More Than Just a Color Analysis App
At Color Edit, our mission is simple:
To make it easy for you to elevate your style and express yourself through color so that you can feel your most confident.
Inside the app, in addition to practical guidance designed specifically for your season, you’ll find outfit inspiration, color combinations, and shopping recommendations for clothing, makeup, accessories.
Our goal is to remove the guesswork.
Instead of wondering whether colors work together, you’ll have visual inspiration and expert guidance at your fingertips. Sometimes the most beautiful color combinations are the ones you would never have thought to try on your own.
Our Philosophy on Color
At Color Edit, we believe color is a tool—not a rulebook.
Sometimes self-expression means wearing the colors that make your natural features shine. Other times, it means intentionally choosing a color outside of your season because it reflects your personality, mood, or message you want to convey.
The key is intentionality.
We want to give you the knowledge and confidence to make informed choices about color. If you understand why certain colors work for you, you can decide when to follow the guidelines and when to break them.
And if you love a color that isn’t technically in your season? Wear it.
Style should feel empowering, not restrictive.
Color has the ability to communicate who we are before we say a single word. Our mission is to help you use it thoughtfully, creatively, and confidently.
Meet the Founders
Deanna Boyd
Deanna is a professional makeup artist, photographer, and certified color analyst with more than three decades of experience helping women look and feel their best. Her passion lies in helping others feel seen, beautiful, and confident at every stage of life.
Through her work in makeup artistry and color theory, she has witnessed firsthand the transformative power of finding the right colors. Color Edit is an extension of that work—a way to bring that same sense of transformation and confidence to a wider audience.
Roxanne Nicolas
Roxanne is a wardrobe consultant, style educator, and certified color analyst who is passionate about helping people discover their personal style and express themselves through fashion and color.
As a self-described “fashion efficiency expert,” Roxanne believes getting dressed shouldn’t feel overwhelming. Her goal is to simplify the process, reduce decision fatigue, and help people create wardrobes that feel both authentic and effortless.
Her style philosophy can be summed up in two simple ideas: “Fashion is self-expression” and “Keep it simple.” Color Edit was created to help people achieve both.
Our Story
We both received our initial training through the Outfit Curator in 2023 and met through an online meeting of the Outfit Curator’s graduates in 2024. After Roxanne reached out to Deanna about a virtual makeup lesson soon after, we quickly became friends and the idea for Color Edit was born later that year. Balancing our lives and careers separate from Color Edit with developing Color Edit has had its challenges. But we firmly believe that everything happens in divine timing and we’re excited for the future of Color Edit.
